BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A Democratic candidate running for governor will visit Brunswick County this week.

Current North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein is running for state governor. The Brunswick County Democratic Party will host the candidate at its headquarters, 1420 Ols Ocean Highway in Bolivia, at 10 a.m. Oct. 12. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.

Stein’s stop marks his first day after kicking off his campaign swing around the state.

As a Democrat, Stein is currently up against former state Supreme Court Justice Mike Morgan in next year’s primaries.

A Harvard Law School graduate who grew up in North Carolina, Stein was elected as attorney general in 2017. Prior to that, he served on the North Carolina State Senate, representing district 16, from 2009 to 2016. He resigned from his legislature seat to run for AG.
