WILMINGTON — Law enforcement were called to a fast food restaurant at the corner of Dawson and Third streets a little before 8 p.m. on Monday, July 24.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, four males were injured by shots fired; three were found in the Burger King parking lot, while a fourth was located one block west of the crime scene. The injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Police found evidence to indicate it was a drug sale gone awry. WPD believe the parties knew one another and it wasn’t a random act of violence.

Witnesses described the suspects as Black males, no clothing description could be provided. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information should call (910) 343-3600, send a message to 847411 using the keyword WPDNC, or use the Tip 411 app.
