LELAND ––– Leland resident Bill McHugh has announced his bid for Leland Town Council. A clinical research atorney, McHugh most recently worked on Covid-19 clinical trials during the pandemic, negotiating and executing contracts to activate sites so they could quickly enroll patients.
“I am running for council because I believe it is critically important that we continue to have strong leadership in Leland during this period of rapid growth.” McHugh said in a press release.
McHugh’s platform includes strong considerations for transportation and infrastructure requirements and providing workforce housing. He also intends to promote environmental sustainability, community service, and fiscal responsibility.
“Given that Leland is part of fastest growing region in North Carolina, and also one of the fastest growing in the nation, it is critical that we have leadership that is focused on the key elements of sustainable, managed growth,” he said in a release.
