Pender deputies looking for man who allegedly assaulted two female victims

ATKINSON — The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 53-year-old man who allegedly assaulted two women in Atkinson.

Early Friday morning at about 3 a.m., deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call on Red Cross Street in Atkinson. They found two female victims there with injuries, who were both transported to the hospital for treatment.

William Dean Hewett allegedly fled the area before deputies arrived. The sheriff’s office believes he is in the Shallotte area of southern Brunswick County, just north of Holden Beach, driving a white Ford Econoline van with a North Carolina registration of TAX-1155.
