SOUTHEAST N.C. — The holiday week means those wanting to partake in some spiked eggnog need to hit the stores before stores close.
Stores around the region are closing early (starting Christmas Eve), and some won’t reopen until Dec. 27.
While both Pender and New Hanover Counties are fairly uniform across the board — from store to store, Brunswick County is less so.
New Hanover County
“New Hanover County ABC Stores will close at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, to observe the Christmas Holiday,” according to the county’s website.
Stores will reopen on Dec. 26 for normal operating hours.
Pender County
In Pender County, residents and visitors will have to wait a little bit longer to get their spirits. All stores will be closing at 6 p.m. for Christmas Eve, and reopen on Friday, Dec. 27.
Brunswick County
Brunswick County has the most ABC boards in all of North Carolina. Here’s a breakdown of which stores are open when:
County-operated stores: Brunswick County ABC board manages two ABC stores in Leland off Highway 74 and in Holden Beach. Holiday hours at these stores:
- Closing early on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m.
- Closed Christmas Day
- Normal operating hours on New Year’s Eve, open until 9 p.m.

Belville ABC Board’s store in Waterford and off River Road will host the following holiday hours:
- Closing early on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m.

Boiling Spring Lakes’ ABC store will host the following holiday hours:
