WRIGHTSBORO — Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find a missing teenage girl last seen on Friday.
Update Tuesday, December 17 — Authorities say Maria-Jose Hernandez Castellanos has been found and returned home safely.
According to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO), 15-year-old Maria-Jose Hernandez Castellanos was last seen on Friday, December 13, at 2709 Castle Hayne Road in Wrightsboro, near the intersection with North Kerr Avenue.
NHCSO described Maria-Jose as a Hispanic, about 5 foot, 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with a medium build, brown eyes, and brown hair.
According to authorities, Maria-Jose was last seen wearing a pink sweater, jeans, and black Vans.
