Mark your calendar: Upcoming local candidate forums in Brunswick County [Free read]

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — With just weeks away from the beginning of the early-voting period, candidates and voters alike are ready to hear viewpoints and debate the region’s hot topics.

Comprised of 19 municipalities (the most in the state) Brunswick County’s municipal election field is always full.

Port City Daily is compiling candidate profiles for select municipal races in Brunswick County, which will be made available free of charge. Check out if you’re eligible to vote in a municipal election this year by reviewing your voter registration status. There’s plenty of time left to register — same-day registration begins October 16 and ends November 1. Same-day registration is not available on election day.

For a chance to meet or see candidates in person at an upcoming candidate forum, be sure to mark your calendar for the following events:

Northern Brunswick

Leland, Sept. 30: Hosted by the League of Women Voters. Leland Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

H2GO, October 4: Hosted by the League of Women Voters. Leland Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.

Central Brunswick

Southport, October 7: Hosted by the League of Women Voters. Southport Community Building at 6:30 p.m.

Boiling Spring Lakes, October 16:Candidates’ Forum” will take place at the Boiling Spring Lakes Community Center at 6:30 p.m.

Oak Island, October 15: Hosted by the League of Women Voters at Oak Island Town Hall at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.

Holden Beach, October 18: Sponsored by the Holden Beach Property Owners Association at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
