Update 2 p.m. – The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office issued an update to clarify the time and location of the incident, as well as the status of the victim.
NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Authorities are searching for armed suspect after a Saturday morning shooting.
According to the New Hanover County Sheriffs Office (NHCSO), deputies are searching for Akeem Rashad Alston for a shooting that happened earlier this morning in southern New Hanover County near Snow’s Cut.
According to NHCSO, “Alston around 7 a.m. showed up and entered the home located 1015 Bozeman Lane. After entering the home Alston got in a dispute with Brandon Eugene Wilson. Alston left the home then returned a few minutes later and continue the argument in the front yard at which time he shot Wilson in the calf. Alston fled the scene and is considered to be armed and dangerous. Wilson was transported to NHRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.”
