BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Pender County’s current town manager Randell Woodruff will take on Brunswick County’s top staff spot in late October.
Woodruff will replace Brunswick County Manager Ann Hardy, who has served as the manager since 2013 and, before then, as the county’s director of Fiscal Operations since 2005.
Hardy is set to retire on November 1. Woodruff has served as Pender County’s manager since 2015.
He is scheduled to begin work on October 21 to allow for a two-week transition period. Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will formally appoint Woodruff as its manager at its upcoming August 5 board meeting.
Before joining Pender County, Woodruff served as Beaufort, N.C. County Manager between 2011 and 2015 and previously as Camden County Manager.
“Randell Woodruff is an experienced, proven county manager who understands the unique challenges associated with leading a fast-growing, diverse coastal county,” Frank Williams, Brunswick County Chairman said in a press release. “Randell has the background, skills and experience required to build on Ann Hardy’s great work. Our board is excited to welcome him to the Brunswick County team, and we look forward to a smooth transition and a great future with him at the helm.”
