Update: Wilmington Police Department releases footage of suspect after downtown bank robbery

Update: The Wilmington Police Department released the following images of the suspect in this morning’s robbery of the First Bank in downtown Wilmington.

WILMINGTON — Authorities are searching for an unnamed suspect after the First Bank in downtown Wilmington was robbed this morning.

According to the Wilmington Police Department (WPD), a suspect robbed the First Bank, located at 201 Market Street. WPD described the suspect as a white male, age 60 or older, wearing a white t-shirt and khaki shorts; according to WPD the man was approximately 5 foot 9 inches tall, with a heavy build and balding, greyish hair.

According to WPD spokesperson Linda Thompson, it is not yet clear if the suspect is armed and/or dangerous. Thompson said she expects an update on the incident shortly.

WPD asks anyone who sees the suspect, who may be in the area near 3rd and Market streets, to call 911 or 910-343-3609.
