WILMINGTON — A six-month-long investigation headed up by the Wilmington Police Department’s gang and vice divisions led to eight different individuals facing a number of drug-related charges.
“On Wednesday [of last week], members of the Gang and Vice Unit executed a search warrant at 313 N. 30th Street and arrested 26-year-old, Alphonso McClendon. Police seized 36 grams of raw heroin, 109 bags of packaged heroin, .35 grams of cocaine and 107 grams of marijuana,” according to a WPD press release.
The next day members of the Gang Unit along with SWAT Team executed a warrant at 1006 Orange Street.
During the warrant, police, “arrested 19-year-old Shyion Jennings, 29-year-old, Jacques Lamarche and 56-year-old, Larry Richardson. Detectives seized two firearms, crack cocaine, marijuana, Ecstasy and drug paraphernalia,” according to the release.
“On Friday Gang and Vice Detectives ended a six-month investigation and executed a search warrant at 3810 River Front Place. During the search, police seized 792 grams of raw heroin, 22 bags of packaged heroin and over $17,000 in cash. The amount of raw heroin seized would have produced about 40,000 bags of heroin to sell on the street. Detectives arrested three validated gang members, 30-year-old, Darion Graham, 23-year-old Kayla Jackson and 26-year-old Qwanell Ruffin,” according to WPD.
