The incident appeared to have occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in the University Landing shopping mall on South College Road. It is not clear what instigated the incident or why law enforcement responded to the scene.

Both Wilmington Police Department officers and at least one North Carolina Highway Patrol office appear in the video.

Several witnesses to the incident, including the person filming, can be heard saying that the woman who was apparently Tasered and arrested in the video was pregnant. Another individual also appears to have been Tasered and arrested during the incident.

Wilmington Police Department spokesperson Linda Thompson said that the department is looking into the incident, but noted that many of the officers involved are not currently on call. Thompson said the department would have more information Monday morning.
