Hit and run driver causes thousands in damage, Wilmington Police asking for help identifying suspect

WILMINGTON — Police are turning to the public to help identify two men involved in a hit and run at a Scotchman on Carolina Beach Road, the incident caused $3,500 worth of damage.

“Officers responded to the Scotchman at 2902 Carolina Beach Road on April 10 where the suspect driver, in a blue Ford F150, backed into a Honda Civic in the parking lot and then fled the scene. The suspect driver is described as a late 30s, early 40s Hispanic man. A passenger was also in the truck at the time of the incident. We are also trying to identify him,” Wilmington Police Department spokeswoman Jennifer Dandron said.

The victim’s car was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
