Video: Wilmington police obtain warrants for woman who struck Uber, assaulted passenger, fled scene

WILMINGTON — Authorities have obtained warrants for a Wilmington woman who allegedly backed into an Uber vehicle, assaulted one of the passengers, and then struck the vehicle a second time while fleeing the scene.

According to the Wilmington Police Department (WPD), Rozalyn Moore, 23, struck the Uber around 11 p.m. on April 12.

“Moore, of Wilmington, backed into the victim’s vehicle at the intersection of 2nd and Princess Street around 11 p.m. on April 12. The Uber was transporting four riders to their destination and was stopped at the stop sign when the incident occurred. The Uber driver and the suspect driver got out of their vehicles and spoke briefly,” according to WPD.

According to WPD, the situation escalated when the victim told Moore he was calling the police. The situation was filmed by one of the Uber passengers.

“[D]uring this time Moore began yelling and is seen on video arguing with her male passenger. Moore then in an aggressive manner charged the Uber passenger who was videoing the incident and assaulted her. The victim again told Moore he was calling the police. Moore and her passenger got back into the suspect vehicle and fled the scene but not before striking the victim’s vehicle a second time causing further damage,” according to WPD.

According to WPD, investigators identified Moore and charged her with hit and run, leaving the scene with property damage, improper backing (up), and simple assault.lt.
