WILMINGTON — Wilmington police officers arrested Courtnay Danielle Lawrence, 21, on Tuesday evening after the woman was caught on video last week allegedly attempting to hit the father of her four children.

Magistrate Laura Barnes issued Lawrence a $25,000 unsecured bond, meaning she won’t have to pay any money for a release. Lawrence will make her first appearance in New Hanover County District Court at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lawrence was charged on assault with a deadly weapon, felony hit-and-run, and driving without a license.

According to PCD spokesperson Jennifer Dandron, an investigation into the hit-and-run revealed Lawrence intentionally attempted to strike a pedestrian, who is the father of her children.

Although the man was left unharmed, the pedestrian walking with him was struck by Lawrence’s vehicle while the two were walking on Rutledge Drive last week.
