Breaking: Thousands without power in Ogden area after truck crashes into powerlines, Market Street closed (free read)

OGDEN — Market Street in northern New Hanover County has come to a standstill and thousands in Ogden are without power after a truck crashed into power lines this morning.

The Wilmington Police Department said, “A driver hit two poles at the intersection of Gordon and Market … Power is out all the way from Gordon to Bayshore and the surrounding areas.

According to the Wilmington Fire Department, Duke Energy and the NCDOT are on scene and the road will likely be closed for at least two hours.

A Duke Energy outage map shows thousands without power in the area and a current restoration time of 2:15 p.m.
