WILMINGTON — Anyone who has had to share a room with someone who snores knows just how frustrating it can be — but one man took his frustrations to the extreme and ended up stabbing the man he was sharing a hotel room with after an argument about snoring throughout the night.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, “Police arrested Guillermo Moreno- Vasquez around 5 a.m. on 12/19 after responding to the Budget Hotel, 4903 Market Street, to a report that a man came to the front desk with a large knife covered in blood. Upon arrival officers located a victim, a 27-year-old man, with non-life threatening stab wounds.”

The two men were not locals and working for an out-of-state company in town.

“Both the suspect and victim work for a construction company out of Texas and were rooming together while on a job in Wilmington. Early Wednesday morning the pair got into an argument about loud noises/someone’s snoring throughout the night, which led to the stabbing,” WPD said.

Moreno-Vasquez was arrested for “assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury” and placed under a $10,000 secured bond
