Update: Wilmington Holiday parade cancelled due to weather concerns

Stay in the holiday spirit by wrapping up your weekend at Wilmington's 16th annual holiday parade and menorah lighting downtown.

Update Sunday 2 p.m. — The city of Wilmington has canceled the 2018 Holiday parade.

Officials cancelled due to concerns of thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon and evening. The event will not be rescheduled.

WILMINGTON — This Sunday, Santa is coming to town.

Wilmington’s 16th annual holiday parade will pass through several blocks of downtown, bringing marching bands, floats, and of course, a visit from Santa.

Starting at 6 p.m., the celebrations will begin with the lighting of the community menorah. The lighting will take place at the intersection of Market and Water Streets.

The parade also kicks off at 6 p.m., four blocks north of the menorah lighting on Water Street at Walnut Street.

Festivities will follow down Water Street south toward Chesnut Street. Check out the parade route below:
