WILMINGTON — Drivers on I-140 in Wilmington will come across lane closures on the freeway and are being encouraged to use alternative routes to limit congestion.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, “At least one lane will remain open to traffic in both directions as N.C. Department of Transportation crews repair the Dan Cameron Bridge over the Northeast Cape Fear River from Thursday, Nov. 29, to Friday, Dec. 7. The work will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on those days.”
The closures are to make emergency repairs to a bridge joint to “ensure safe passage for drivers using the bypass.”
