WILMINGTON — The intersection of Eastwood Road and Market Street in Wilmington could be the home to a new 123-room Home2 Suites by Hilton, an all-suite extended stay hotel.

Documents have been submitted to the city’s Technical Review Committee showing the proposed site plan. The hotel would be located in between Eastwood Road and Old Eastwood Road with frontage on Market Street.

Currently, the property is zoned regional business district meaning the location will not need to be rezoned to accommodate the hotel as it is permitted by right. Plans show a 4-story single building 43-feet in height with a 17,013-square-foot footprint.

The new hotel would be just one of several new hotels planned for the area. Hotels are also planned for the CenterPoint development located on Eastwood Road and Military Cutoff Road, and at The Avenue development on Military Cutoff Road.
