WRIGHTSBORO — There’s a lot of sushi in Wilmington, but cross the city limits into northern New Hanover County, and it’s a different story. Nigori Gourmet and Sushi Bar has changed that.
Located in Wrightsboro, between Wilmington and the Castle Hayne area on Castle Hayne Road, Nigori is owned by Yu-Fan Chen, who spent years working at Wilmington’s own sushi empire, Nikki’s. He has brought some popular sushi classics from Nikki’s, as well as a variety of classic Chinese dishes.
In addition to the basic, but classic, options – like tuna, salmon and California rolls – Nigori offers some more adventurous sushi and sashimi ingredients like raw scallop, conch and squid (Ika).
Nigori is open for lunch and dinner, Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant also has a full bar and a selection of sake. You can find Nigori’s menu on its Facebook page.
Nigori Gourmet and Sushi Bar is located at 2549 Castle Hayne Road.
