
WILMINGTON — Terry Wayne Cherry, 59, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCare Center in Wilmington.
Terry was born Oct. 16, 1958, in New Hanover County, a son of the late R.D. Cherry and the late Martha Faye Cavanaugh Cherry. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He had been a volunteer at the First Fruit Ministries in Wilmington for 19 years.
He is survived by his sisters, Wanda O’Sullivan, and her husband, Terry, of Winnabow, and Teresa Caison, and her husband, Curtis, of Rocky Point; brothers, Ronnie and Jerry Cherry, both of Wilmington; niece, Sara Pearce, and her husband, Brandon; nephew, Casey Caison; great-niece and great-nephew, Avery and Luke Pearce; cousins, Carline Williams, and her fiancée, Eli Gutierrez, of Leland and Rick Heimbach, and his wife, Loretta, of Wilmington; special friend, Mike; as well as his beloved dog, Bear, who kept him going.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his service at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 15, at the First Fruit Ministry, 2750 Vance St., Wilmington, with the Rev. Russ Miller and Rev. Floyd Morris officiating.
