NEW HANOVER COUNTY—Following months of delay and concern, the New Hanover County Board of Education has finalized an updated redistricting timeline; the Board is set to approve a final redistricting plan for middle and high schools – but not elementary schools – before the upcoming November election.

By August of next year, new high school assignments will go into effect. Elementary school students in the area will attend newly assigned schools starting in August 2020.
