Wilmington Police searching for driver who fled after striking vehicle with infant passenger

WILMINGTON— The Wilmington Police Department is asking for help in identifying a hit and run suspect.

The incident occurred late March, in which a gray Jeep Cherokee struck a silver BMW that had an infant in the back seat.

The Jeep had large tires, tinted windows and a 30-day temporary tag.

According to the WPD, no injuries were reported. The hit and run occurred at the intersection of 2nd Street and Dock Street on March 25 at approximately 10:40 a.m.

After the collision, WPD spokesperson Jennifer Dandron said before fleeing toward South 3rd Street, the suspect made a hand gesture toward the victims.
