Expect traffic delays on these Wilmington roads, Azalea Triathlon is Saturday

WILMINGTON—This Saturday, Wilmington motorists may wish to avoid roads in town for the safety of triathletes and to avoid inevitable traffic.

The 15th annual Azalea Triathlon will take place Saturday on the Univesity of North Carolina Wilmington’s campus.

Bike portions of the event will ride through many portions of town, including:

  • Exiting UNCW via Riegel Road
  • Northbound on Rose Avenue to Clear Run Drive
  • Westbound on Clear Run Drive to Cardinal Drive
  • Northbound on Cardinal Drive to Eastwood Road
  • Eastbound on Eastwood Road to Rogersville Road
  • Southbound on Rogersville Road to Wrightsville Avenue
  • Westbound on Wrightsville Avenue to MacMillan Avenue
  • Northbound on MacMillan Avenue to Hamilton Drive

No roads will be fully closed but event organizers warn motorists of traffic delays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3.
