WILMINGTON — A Castle Hayne woman has been arrested for pulling a pellet gun and discharging it at bystanders outside of a store.
On Thursday, officers were flagged down around 2:10 p.m. yesterday about a woman pointing and shooting a pellet gun at people in the area of Family Fare at 502 North 3rd street, according to Wilmington Police Spokesperson Jennifer Dandron.
The woman was identified as 25-year-old Destiny Nobles of Castle Hayne.
According to Dandron, Nobles “pointed the gun at two people, shot at them but missed. She did strike glass and caused property damage to the store. She admitted to pointing the gun at people and was arrested.”
At the time the gun was fired the victims believed the gun was real, it was not until after that they realized it was a pellet gun.
She was charged with discharging a firearm in city limits, going armed to the terror of the public, assault by pointing a gun, injury to real property, concealed carry of a weapon without a permit.
She received an unsecured bond of $5,000.
