WILMINGTON — Halloween is here at last. If sitting at home on All Hallow’s Eve, handing out candy to princesses and super heroes does not sound like your cup of grog, Port City Daily has complied a list of Halloween happenings around town.
From costume contests to karaoke parties, there are plenty of local haunts offering a chance to show off your costuming skills. And for the true procrastinators in our audience, check out these five last-minute costume ideas.

Duck and Dive
Halloween at Duck happens tonight starting at 10 p.m., be sure to bring your wear your best costume and enjoy some live music from Medicated Sunfish. There will be a costume contest and prizes given out for the best three. Duck and Dive is located at 114 Dock Street in Wilmington.
The Husk
Calling all zombies and werewolves, The Husk is hosting a costume contest starting at 8 p.m. with winners announced at 11 p.m. The party is taking place at 39 South Front Street in downtown Wilmington. Prizes will be awarded to the best three costumes.
Anne Bonny’s
Forget the landlubbers and bring your best costumes and your furry friends out to Anne Bonny’s Bar and Grill for the restaurant’s first ever Halloween contest starting at 7 p.m. on the barge. Check out Jason Jackson serving as DJ and host of the contest, where a $100 cash prize for the best dressed will be awarded. Anne Bonny’s is docked at 101 South Water Street.
Fly Trap Brewing
What’s not to love about sour beers, a costume contest, live music and a food truck. Fly Trap Brewing will have all of the above with the food truck starting at 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., music from members of the Dubtown Cosmonauts at 7 p.m., and the contest kicking off at 9 p.m. at 319 Walnut Street in Wilmington.
Hell’s Kitchen
What is scarier than an original costume? How about costume karaoke happening at Hell’s Kitchen. The party begins at 8 p.m. at 118 Princess Street so don best costume and get ready to sing.
