WILMINGTON — The North Carolina Department of Transportation has scheduled a public meeting Monday to garner public feedback on improvements to Carolina Beach Road.
The meeting will take place Monday, Oct. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sunset Park Elementary School, 613 Alabama Ave. The meeting is specifically concerned with proposed upgrades between Burnett Boulevard and Shipyard Boulevard in Wilmington (here’s the NCDOT map).
The improvements include upgrading Carolina Beach Road into four lanes with a divided median to improve safety and traffic flow.
No formal presentation will be made. Interested residents may attend at any time during the meeting, when NCDOT representatives will be available to provide information and answer questions. Attendees may also provide written comments.

A similar hearing will be held at the same location in regard to similar road improvements of U.S. 421 (South Front Street) from U.S. 17 Business/U.S. 76/ U.S. 421 (Cape Fear Memorial Bridge) to U.S. 421 (Burnett Boulevard),in Wilmington.
