WILMINGTON — The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge will be closed overnight for a safety inspection next week.
According to the Bridge Maintenance Engineer Adam Britt of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the bridge is due for its annual safety inspection. Safety workers will check bridge cables and make any necessary repairs.
Britt asked drivers to “be patient during the closure.”
The bridge will close on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday morning. It will close the following four nights, at the same times, and reopen full time Friday morning.
