WILMINGTON — Acting on an anonymous report through Text-A-Tip, Wilmington Police Department has seized large amounts of heroin and cash.
The Wilmington Police Department’s Special Investigation Investigation Unit arrested six people on Thursday, May 25.
Officers seized 14,000 bindles of heroin (over a kilogram of the drug). Police have not put a cash value on the heroin, but according to average cost quoted to Port City Daily by Deputy Police Chief, the heroin could be worth over $150,000.

Special Investigation Units from department, along with the SWAT Team and traffic units also seized over $22,000 in cash during the arrests.
According to an email from Linda Rawley, spokeswoman for the department, the arrests happened shortly after 6 a.m.
Seized were four firearms, two of which were stolen, approximately 3 1/2 ounces of crack cocaine, $22,000 in U.S. Currency, and over 14,000 bindles of heroin.
“A subsequent search warrant was executed at a suspects room in Wood Springs Suites, 2657 Carolina Beach Road,” Rawley wrote.
Suspects are currently being processed and no photos are currently available. The following arrests were made:
- Shiela L. Hankins (01/28/60) Charges: trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, manufacturing heroin, manufacturing cocaine, maintaining a dwelling, and possession of a controlled substance w/ 1,000 feet of a school.
- Tyree R. Guy (12/06/95) Charges: trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, manufacturing heroin, manufacturing cocaine, maintaining a dwelling, and possession of a controlled substance w/ 1,000 feet of a school.
- Naquie T. Royster (03/08/99) Charges:trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, manufacturing heroin, two counts of possession of stolen firearms, manufacturing cocaine, maintaining a dwelling, and possession of a controlled substance w/ 1,000 feet of a school.
- Talih A. Reeves (10/13/81) Charges: trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, manufacturing heroin, manufacturing cocaine, maintaining a dwelling.
- Dasha C. Charles (05/09/96) Charges: trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, manufacturing heroin, manufacturing cocaine, maintaining a dwelling.
- Raheem A. Green 09/18/88 Charges: trafficking heroin, trafficking cocaine, manufacturing heroin, manufacturing cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.
