WILMINGTON — The Friends of Hibernians celebrated its 16th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Wilmington a little early this year. So, whether you missed the festivities last weekend or just need a little Irish cheer on your Friday, here are the sights and sounds of the parade.
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade featured two and four-legged participants, including Wilmington City Council members Paul Lawler, Kevin O’Grady and self-described “temporarily Irish” Mayor Bill Saffo. Dogs from the Adopt an Angel foundation and Greyhound Friends of North Carolina also participated.
At the parade’s end, the Wilmington Police Department Pipes & Drums performed.
