SHALLOTTE — Community tips led to the arrest of a Shallotte man on several felony drug charges and the seizure of cocaine, prescription pills and marijuana.
Cornelius Osha Green, 29, was arrested after drug agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home on Beach Drive in Shallotte, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax.
A search of the home was conducted early Friday morning and yielded 27.7 grams of cocaine, 102 grams of marijuana, 625 grams of hydrocodone and cash.
The investigation of this case was initiated following numerous complaints and tips from the community, Flax said. Green was previously charged on July 29 with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Green is now facing charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling or house for a controlled substance, trafficking in opium, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Green is currently being detained in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $1 million bond.
Sheriff John Ingram thanks those in the community who continue to provide the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office with tips and encourages others to do the same, Flax said.
