WILMINGTON — The Republican National Committee has opened a new office in Wilmington ahead of the Nov. 8 election.
Lara Trump, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law and a Wrightsville Beach native, spoke briefly to several dozen supporters who came to the office’s opening on Thursday evening. The vice chair of the North Carolina GOP, Michelle Nix, also spoke.
“Wilmington will be a key area for the campaign moving forward,” Nix said, adding that the office, located at 3825 Market St. Suite 5, is the 10 office the party has opened statewide.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign opened a field office in Wilmington in early August. That office is located at 5041 New Centre Drive.
