One teen is dead and four others were wounded after a drive-by shooting Sunday on Castle Street.
The shooting, which police suspect to be gang-related, happened at the intersection of 11th and Castle streets at 11:18 a.m., according to Wilmington Police Department spokeswoman Linda Rawley.
The five males were shot after a dark-colored sedan drove by the corner and fired multiple shots at the group, Rawley said. Police found 16-year-old Shane Simpson dead on the ground at the intersection.
Four other males were also injured in the shooting. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening. No suspect information was provided by police but Rawley said police have a person of interest. The investigation is ongoing.
