A registered sex offender was arrested Tuesday on the campus of North Brunswick High School in Leland.
Christopher Jason Long, 31, of the 100 block of Mill Creek Road in Bolivia, was taken into custody after his GPS monitoring alerted law enforcement to his whereabouts, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Emily Flax said.
“He had no business on school property,” Flax noted.
She said the deputy assigned to sex offender monitoring was then sent to the area, and found Long at North Brunswick.
After Tuesday’s arrest, Long now faces a habitual felon charge. He is also charged with being a sex offender on the premises of a place intended “primarily for the use, care or supervision of minors,” according to his arrest warrant.
Long was placed under a $300,000 bond in Brunswick County jail.
