According to county officials, New Hanover County has activated the Joint Information Center (JIC) in response to torrential rainfall. Located at the New Hanover County Emergency Operations Center, the JIC will coordinate the release of information concerning the storm and response activities.
The JIC is the collaboration between local and regional emergency management partner organizations designed to facilitate the timely delivery of accurate information before, during and after emergencies.
The joint information center hotline has been established to field calls from residents and visitors of New Hanover County. The hotline is available 24 hours a day and may be reached at (910) 798-6800. A Spanish translator is available for non-English speaking residents at (910) 798-6808.
In addition, all information regarding storm will be posted to here, and on the social media sites for the county including their Facebook and Twitter @NHCEM and @NewHanoverCo.
