No charges will be filed in a wreck that killed a pedestrian at a Carolina Beach Road intersection on Wednesday.
Christopher Patrick Cook, 24, of Wilmington, was struck by a mini-van traveling south near the intersection of Carolina Beach Road and Shipyard Boulevard just before noon, according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley.
Cook was walking westbound towards his home in Long Leaf Park when he was hit, Rawley said. He died from injuries sustained in the wreck.
The investigation revealed that the driver of the mini-van was traveling with a green light and “never saw Cook as he was crossing the roadway,” she added.
The driver, who is reportedly from Winnabow, will not be charged in the wreck, Rawley said.
