Shower singers and would-be stars take note: You could have a shot at being the next – and last – American Idol.
As part of a Fox promotion, the Wilmington network affiliate is hosting local auditions for the show’s upcoming final season on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Cameron Art Museum.
Come ready to sing a song, or a portion of a song, of your choice a cappella for a panel of judges, who will select one winner based on vocal quality, performance and overall stage presence to fly to San Francisco, California and audition with the producers of “American Idol” on Oct. 11.
The winner will be guaranteed one audition with a show producer and will be judged under the official “American Idol” rules. The local contest champ will not receive any preferential treatment for callbacks.
The local “American Idol” winner will be announced during Fox Wilmington’s news program at 10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21.
