Beginning with the March 16 regular meeting, Brunswick County Commissioners will hold regular meetings at a new time, with discussion of county business beginning at 6:30 p.m.
With the new schedule, commissioners will call the meeting to order and adjourn to closed sessions at 5:45 p.m. At 6:30 p.m., commissioners will come out of closed session and begin the rest of the meeting, including voting publicly on any closed session matters that are decided, holding a public comment period and discussing county business, according to Amanda Hutcheson, Brunswick County public information officer.
“The new meeting schedule will make it easier for residents to attend meetings and will enable them to hear any votes or action taken after closed session without having to wait though the closed session, the commissioners said when voting to change the schedule,” Hutcheson said.
Meetings are open to the public and are held in commissioners’ chambers in the David R. Sandifer Administration Building.
