“We credit the arrest of this suspect with the impressive cooperation and support of the individuals who live in and around the community,” Evangelous said. “I want to personally thank everyone who called or texted our officers, and spoke [to] our detectives, our officers, at the scene. Because without them, we may not have solved this case.”

Floyd has been convicted of five felonies, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a weapon of mass destruction and possession with intent to sell and deliver a counterfeit controlled substance, according to the N.C. Department of Corrections. His last conviction was in December 2011 in New Hanover County.
