In addition to dozens of beautifully adorned trees, this year’s event includes a new feature–the Art of Gingerbread competition and exhibit.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, CAM will hold “Ginger Blast!” to celebrate this inaugural year’s gingerbread creations and announce prize winners. CAM Café’s chef will whip up some innovative ginger goodies and other sweet and savory delights, and an open cash bar available. The event, which runs from 7 to 9 p.m., includes live music. Tickets are $30 and include festival and gallery admission.

Proceeds from Cape Fear Festival of Trees benefit Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation and the Cameron Art Museum.

In addition to the trees, the festival includes live performances by over 30 local musical groups and artists. Luis Paschoa performs at 1 p.m. today (Sunday), as do harpists Julie Rehder and Carole Green. St. Paul’s Oompah Band will play at 5 p.m.
