Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 19 year old after sexually explicit images were posted on Instagram.
James Rudolph Brown IV, 19, of Earla Loop Road in Bolivia, was arrested July 25, charged with first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax.
“An investigation was initiated after detectives received a report that sexually explicit photos of a juvenile female had been posted by an Instagram user,” Flax said. “During the investigation, detectives learned that Brown had sent the pictures of the juvenile female to an Instagram account whose user then posted online.”
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected, Flax said. Brown was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center where he was placed under a $250,000 secured bond.
