Bridgework beginning today will close one of two eastbound lanes on U.S. 74-76 in Leland through the weekend.
Crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation will be working on the deck of a bridge just east of Malmo Loop Road NE, weather permitting. The lane closure will last through 6 a.m. Monday.
The work is part of a DOT effort to make “strategic investments to repair and replace substandard bridges to provide better access across the state to fuel economic growth,” according to a notice.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the area.
