Juliette Lewis is returning to Wilmington to star in ABC’s “Secrets & Lies.”
Multiple entertainment trade sites are reporting that Lewis will join Ryan Phillipe to star in the crime drama, the pilot for which is set to film in Wilmington later this month.
Lewis confirmed the report Wednesday evening on her Twitter account, tweeting: “THE SECRET IS OUT!! Sooo EXCITED. RT “@THR: Juliette Lewis to Star Opposite Ryan Phillippe in ABC’s ‘Secrets & Lies’.”
Minutes later, Lewis further tweeted: “Yes it is TRUE! And it’s gonna be INTENSE! RT @Variety: Juliette Lewis Joins Ryan Phillippe in ABC’s ‘Secrets & Lies’.”

Lewis is said to be playing a detective in the show, a remake of an Australian crime drama.
A report in The Hollywood Reporter states: “Lewis will play Andrea Cornell, the unflappable, somewhat formidable detective conducting the investigation into the slaying of 4-year-old Tom Mullen who has her sights set on Ben (Phillippe), the loving father who found the boy’s body.”
Lewis, whose credits include the 1991 remake of the film “Cape Fear,” which earned her an Academy Award nomination, was last in Wilmington in 2011, appearing in the feature film “Hick.”
“Secrets & Lies” is one of three pilots filming in Wilmington this spring, along with FX’s “How and Why,” starring John Hawkes and Michael Cera, and the recently announced CBS pilot “Red Zone.”
