Teen killed in Sunday night shooting on 10th Street

A Wilmington teenager was shot and killed Sunday night on 10th Street.

Raequan Dupree Rouse, 18, died from gunshot wounds sustained during a shooting in the 600 block of North 10th Street at about 6:30 p.m., according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and several calls from residents about gunfire but no victims were found at the scene, Rawley said. Several shell casings were found in the area.

“About 20 minutes later officers were notified that a victim showed up at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds,” Rawley said.

Rouse died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
