Woman robbed at gunpoint at Food Lion parking lot

A woman reported she was robbed at gunpoint at a Food Lion parking lot Monday afternoon.

A 29-year-old woman reported she was robbed at 1:48 p.m. at the grocery story at 2436 S. 17th St., according to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Linda Rawley.

The woman reported she was sitting in her car when a man got into the passenger seat of her vehicle, Rawley said. The man pointed a black handgun at her and took her cash, Rawley said. The man exited the vehicle and fled west in the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old. He is 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He wore a baseball cap with a bandanna around the lower part of his face.
