Authorities are investigating after two men were found dead on the beach strand at North Topsail Beach Thursday night.
According to a release from the town Friday, officers with the North Topsail Beach Police Department responded to a call in reference to a stabbing at approximately 10:40 p.m. Thursday on the beach strand between Ocean Drive and the Village of Stump Sound off N.C. 210.
Upon arrival, officers located two deceased men on the beach strand.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the investigation along with officers from the Surf City and Holly Ridge police departments.
“At this time we are not actively searching for any suspects,” stated the release. Investigators have not released the victims’ information.
The release states that while the incident is still under investigation, authorities believe there is no imminent threat to the safety of the residents and guests of North Topsail Beach and the surrounding communities.
