Environmental educators with the county’s parks and gardens department will be guiding tours through local waterways, focusing on “the flora, fauna and ecosystem of both riverine and salt marsh habitats with discussion concerning coastal conservation issues,” as stated in a release.

“Topics include bird watching, oyster reef restoration, storm water runoff and best management practices. Participants should be interested in understanding and appreciating this natural resource,” the release states.

Tours are scheduled to coincide with the best tide at the following locations:

  • Friday, April 19 – 2:30 to 5 p.m. – River Road Park, 6500 River Road
  • Monday, May 13 – 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Trails End Park, 613 Trails End Road
