Monday, April 6
The Wilmington City Council will hold an agenda review at 8:30 a.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here.
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. in the NHC Courthouse, 24. N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- 2026 Comprehensive Plan – Destination 50
The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will meet at 3 p.m., 30 Government Center Drive in Bolivia. The agenda includes discussion regarding the regulation of the burning of debris in the solid waste ordinance. Also, consideration of appointment for the District 4 Planning Board seat. Tuesday, April 7
The Wilmington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- Ordinance Amending the Official Zoning Maps of the City of Wilmington to Rezone Property Located at 910 S. Eighth St. from R-5, Medium-Density Mixed Residential District to UMX, Urban Mixed-Use District
- Ordinance Amending the Official Zoning Maps of the City of Wilmington to Rezone Property Located at 4118 Market St. from RB, Regional Business to MD-17 (CD), High-density Multiple-Dwelling Residential (Conditional District) for a 76-unit Multiple-Dwelling Development. - FY2027 Annual Action Plan for CDBG & HOME Funds (Public Hearing Only)
The Belville Board of Commissioners will host a special meeting at 6 p.m. at the NC State Highway Patrol Training Room on 63 River Road. The agenda includes discussion of a resolution to move municipal elections to even years, to align with general elections and to increase the mayor’s term from two to four years, in line with commissioners’ term length.
The Pender County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m., 805 South Walker Street in Burgaw. The agenda includes consideration of an MOU for the revised cost of a 10-mile raw water line project, increasing from $1.52 million to $1.88 million. Also, town staff will provide a list of outstanding public records requests and a summary of attorney fees and litigation against Pender County. The meeting will livestream here.
The Surf City Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Surf City Municipal Complex. The agenda includes consideration of zoning text amendments to permit alternate off-street parking options. Also, consideration of annexing three parcels totaling about 250 acres from Onslow County into Surf City. The meeting will livestream here.
Wednesday, April 8
Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Board will meet at 9 a.m. at 230 Government Center Dr. in room 139. The meeting is open to the public; committee and executive director reports will be presented, including items such as:
- Proposed FY27 increment to new development service fees and charges, from the Long Range Planning Committee
- FY27 Budget Discussion from the Finance Committee
- CFPUA and City of Wilmington billing relationship informational item (see previous PCD reporting here)
- FY2027 employee compensation recommendations from HR Committee
The Topsail Beach Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. in the Topsail Beach Town Hall. The agenda includes an update on the public safety building project and consideration of a budget amendment of $100,000 for the Water Management Task Team to control flooding. The Pender County Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. in Commissioner’s Chambers, 805 S. Walker Street. The agenda includes consideration of a zoning text amendment to allow hotels and motels in the Industrial Transition and General Industrial zoning districts. Also, review of a request to rezone 1.6 acres from Planned Development to Office and Institutional off of Highway 17 in Hampstead. The meeting will livestream here.
Thursday, April 9
The Wilmington Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- 230 McRae St.: New house construction
- 107 S. FIfth Ave.: Window alterations and foundation infill
The Carolina Beach Planning and Zoning Commission will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes a public hearing to consider conditional zoning for a pickleball court in the Mixed-Use District (MX) at 1608 Bowfin Lane, from applicant Atlantic Towers Assn Inc. The Southport Board of Aldermen will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the community building. An agenda includes the alleway discussion and staff report/assessment, as well as a minimal housing ordinance discussing repairs and demolition cases. Meetings can be streamed here.
The Brunswick County Board of Adjustment will meet at 6 p.m. in Commissioners’ Chambers at the Brunswick County Government Center. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Navassa Planning Board will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. at 338 Main St. An agenda was not posted by press.
