SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Every Monday Port City Daily will share upcoming government and community meetings around the tri-county region. If there’s an item of public interest, it will be included, too.

Monday, June 23

The Southport Board of Aldermen will meet at 9 a.m. at 113 W. Moore Street. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • FY26 Budget

Tuesday, June 24

The NC State Board of Elections meets at 11 a.m. in the Board Room office on the Third Floor of the Dobbs Building, 430 N. Salisbury St., Raleigh. Any member of the public may attend in person or observe the meeting online at Webex (Password: NCSBE) or by phone when calling (415) 655-0003, enter access code 2430 574 1763#, passcode 62723#.   • Appointment of members to county boards
  • Campaign finance 
  • Penalty waiver request for late-filled campaign finance reports

The Leland Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the town hall, 102 Town Hall Drive. The agenda includes:

  • Recommendation for Adoption of the Leland Integrated Mobility Plan
  • Proposed Text Amendment to Flood Damage Prevention of the Town’s Code of Ordinances
  • Proposed Text Amendment to Permitted Use Table Related to Model Unit Marketing Centers

Carolina Beach Town Council will meet for a workshop at 9 a.m. The agenda includes Marketing Advisory Committee budget presentation and review of town committees. The meeting will livestream here.

The New Hanover County Board of Education will hold an agenda review at 2 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Turnaround Task Force final report
  • Stop-arm camera update
  • pre-K budget update

Wednesday, June 25

The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Board will meet in joint session with the TCC at 1:30 p.m., followed by a regular meeting at 3 p.m. at 545 N. Fourth St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Opening of the 30-day public comment period for the 2026-2035 State/MPO Transportation Improvement Programs
  • Downtown Trail Phases 2 and 3 Feasibility Study- Andrew Ooms, Kittleson & Associates

Topsail Beach Planning Board will meet at 10 a.m. in the Topsail Beach Town Hall. The agenda includes discussion and consideration of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The meeting will livestream here.

Thursday, June 26

The North Carolina State Ports Authority Board of Directors meets at 9 a.m. in the Board Room of the North Carolina Maritime Building, 2202 Burnett Boulevard. Members of the public may join in person. An agenda was not posted by press.

Cape Fear Transportation Authority meets at 12:30 p.m. at Forden Station, 505 Cando St., to vote on the ​​FY 2026 $14.7-million budget.
